About the artist and the song:
Leading Edge are and indie pop band from Malmö. Having played for several years around southern Sweden they released their debut album Northern Lights in April last year.
The song Whatever Comes Your Way is about people who begin to recognize the world's injustices, and take the step from being an inactive bystander to being someone who acts to make a difference. It's inspired by powerful historical female figures such as Rosa Luxemburg and Emma Goldman, as well as those speaking truth to power in the present day such as Greta Thunberg and Ilhan Omar.
There are appeals to shake off the hive-mind, echo-chamber mentality that seems to permeate all political groups today. Above all, it's a song dedicated to those who have the courage and clarity to challenge the status quo in the name of something good, and bear the burden of the retaliation in all its forms.
